In a beach-front location overlooking the lagoon, “Le Cours d’école” offers the chance to combine a French language course with a trip to the beautiful island of Tahiti. “Le Cours d’école” is a family-run establishment and was founded in 2005 by Renee Pellet, a certified French Language Teacher with many years’ experience of teaching French at all levels.

The school offers a flexible approach to learning French. Group and individual classes are available for all levels, and courses can be tailored to specific needs on request. Business French, training for recognized language qualifications (DELF/DALF) and phonetics are among the options on offer, while the “French & Golf” package allows you to improve both your grammar and your swing, with golf classes held at the nearby Atimaono International Golf Club.

Accommodation is available in the homes of local families for a truly authentic immersion in Polynesian life. Alternatively, hotel accommodation to suit all budgets can be arranged according to students’ preferences. After class, activities ranging from watersports and diving to hiking and museum visits are available within close proximity of the school. Intercontinental Bora Bora

New Cooking Classes at the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort and Thalasso Spa
Combining French and Polynesian traditions, InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa has introduced new cooking classes with the hotel’s chef. Much like the hotel itself, the classes are innovative, contemporary and unlike anything else guests will find on Bora Bora.In small groups of two to eight students, Chef Stephane Bonjour will guide students from preparation to presentation while also sharing some of his culinary secrets. Participants will prepare two dishes: either an appetizer and dessert or an entrée and dessert. Main course dishes include Shrimp Ravioli, Sea Bream Filet, Tuna Tartar, and Veal Filet Mignon. Following the lesson, guests enjoy their delicious meals, complemented with select wines. The price is US $350* per person plus taxes, including the lesson and dinner. Classes are currently available Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays until March 31, 2008.

Each session includes:

  • A 20-minute introduction and presentation of the material, the products and the prepared dishes.
  • All necessary ingredients and cooking tools.
  • 90-minute preparation and lesson.
  • The lesson is followed by a short evaluation session to go over the final products with additional advice given by the chef .
  • A picture with the Chef is taken in the kitchen during the lesson.
  • An embroidered InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa apron.
  • A kitchen booklet with a worksheet of the prepared dishes.
  • A “Chef” diploma presented by the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa kitchen staff.
  • Service and tasting in the kitchen at Chef’s table or in a private area of Le Reef restaurant.
  • The assistance of an English speaking staff.
  • A glass of wine complementing each dish.
